Retraction Policy
Articles published in Tsiqah: Jurnal Studi Hadis dan Tradisi Kenabian may be considered for retraction if there is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, either as a result of misconduct, such as data fabrication, data falsification, citation manipulation, plagiarism, self-plagiarism, unethical authorship, duplicate publication, or fake peer review, or due to honest error, including miscalculation, inaccurate source interpretation, methodological mistakes, or serious analytical errors. Retraction may also occur if the article has been previously published elsewhere without proper acknowledgment, permission, or justification, constituting redundant or duplicate publication.
In addition, any form of plagiarism, unattributed translation, unauthorized use of copyrighted materials, undisclosed conflict of interest, unethical research practice, or manipulation of scholarly sources may result in retraction. This includes serious misrepresentation of Hadith texts, sanad and matn analysis, syarah works, rijal literature, classical Islamic sources, manuscripts, translations, field data, digital corpora, online materials, or other scholarly sources that affects the validity, reliability, and integrity of the article.
The purpose of retraction is not to punish authors but to correct the scholarly record and prevent the continued circulation of unreliable, misleading, or unethical work. The journal is committed to maintaining academic integrity, publication ethics, and transparency in the field of Hadith studies and Prophetic traditions. The retraction process will be conducted in accordance with the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), which can be accessed at: https://publicationethics.org/files/retraction%20guidelines.pdf.
If potential grounds for retraction are identified, the editorial team will conduct an initial assessment and may request clarification, supporting documents, original data, source materials, or written explanation from the author(s). The Editor-in-Chief may consult section editors, reviewers, editorial board members, or external experts when necessary. During the investigation, the article may be temporarily marked with an expression of concern if the issue is serious and requires further verification.
If the investigation confirms that retraction is necessary, Tsiqah: Jurnal Studi Hadis dan Tradisi Kenabian will publish a retraction notice that clearly identifies the retracted article, explains the reason for retraction, and preserves the transparency of the scholarly record. The original article may remain accessible online with a clear retraction mark to ensure that readers are aware of its status.
Authors are responsible for notifying the editorial office if they discover significant errors, ethical issues, or unreliable findings in their published article. Authors are expected to cooperate with the editorial team in the investigation and correction of the scholarly record.
The journal may also issue corrections, clarifications, or expressions of concern when the identified issue does not require full retraction but still needs to be communicated to readers. All decisions regarding correction, expression of concern, or retraction are made by the Editor-in-Chief based on evidence, ethical considerations, and the seriousness of the case.
By submitting and publishing an article in Tsiqah: Jurnal Studi Hadis dan Tradisi Kenabian, authors agree to comply with this Retraction Policy and the journal’s publication ethics standards.
