Focus

The Journal of Qur’anic Legal Studies and Exegesis is an international peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to advancing cutting-edge research on Qur’anic legal interpretation (tafsīr āyāt al-aḥkām) and its role in the formation, transformation, and contemporary relevance of Islamic legal thought.

The journal prioritizes theoretically grounded and methodologically rigorous studies that critically engage with the Qur’an as a source of law, examining how legal meanings are constructed, interpreted, and applied across historical periods and socio-cultural contexts. It seeks to bridge classical exegetical traditions with contemporary approaches in legal theory, hermeneutics, and interdisciplinary scholarship.

By positioning Qur’anic legal studies within global academic discourse, the journal aims to contribute to broader debates in law, ethics, and religion, particularly in relation to modern challenges and transnational contexts.
