Journal of Islamic Political and Social Studies (JIPSS)

Journal Header

Manuscripts must follow the formatting standards of the Journal of Islamic Political and Social Studies (JIPSS). The header should include the journal name, volume, issue, month, and year of publication, along with the editorial office, official website, and contact email (jipss@bahsisfikr.or.id).

General Manuscript Format

  • Font: Times New Roman
  • Size: 12 pt
  • Spacing: 1.5
  • Margins: 2.54 cm (all sides)
  • Article Length: 6000–8000 words
  • Language: Standard academic English
  • Citation Style: American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition (in-text citation)

Author Identity

Author names must be written without academic titles. Each author’s institutional affiliation and country must be clearly stated. The corresponding author must be indicated with a valid email address.

Example format:

Abstract

An abstract must be provided in English and should clearly summarize the research objectives, methodology, main findings, and conclusions.

  • Length: 150–250 words
  • Written in a single paragraph
  • Include 3–5 keywords (lowercase, separated by commas)

Introduction

The introduction should present the research background, problem formulation, and research objectives. It must explicitly highlight the research gap and novelty, supported by relevant and up-to-date scholarly literature. The research objective should be clearly stated at the end of this section.

Method

This section must provide sufficient detail to allow replication of the study. It may include:

  • Research design (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods)
  • Data sources or participants
  • Instruments and data collection procedures
  • Data analysis techniques

The methodology must be presented systematically and logically.

Results and Discussion

The results should be presented clearly and concisely, focusing on the main findings. The discussion must interpret the results in relation to the research objectives, compare them with previous studies, and demonstrate the contribution and novelty of the study. Authors should also address theoretical and practical implications, as well as limitations where relevant.

Conclusion

The conclusion should directly address the research objectives and highlight the main contributions of the study. It should not merely repeat the results but provide a synthesis of findings and suggest directions for future research.

References

All references must follow APA Style (7th Edition) and be listed alphabetically. Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management tools such as Mendeley or Zotero.

Transliteration

Arabic transliteration must follow standardized academic conventions:

  • Letters: ’, b, t, th, j, ḥ, kh, d, dh, r, z, s, sh, ṣ, ḍ, ṭ, ẓ, ‘ (ʿayn), gh, f, q, k, l, m, n, h, w, y
  • Short vowels: a, i, u

Template and Submission

The JIPSS article template is available for download on the journal website. Authors are required to use the official template when preparing their manuscript.

All manuscripts must be submitted through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. Authors must ensure that the manuscript has been properly anonymized for the double-blind peer review process.
