Retraction Policy

Journal of Interdisciplinary Qur’anic Studies (JIQS)

The Journal of Interdisciplinary Qur’anic Studies (JIQS) is committed to maintaining the integrity of the academic record. Retraction is applied to correct serious errors or ethical violations in published articles.

Retraction may be considered under the following conditions:

  • Evidence of plagiarism or duplicate publication
  • Data fabrication or falsification
  • Significant methodological errors that invalidate the findings
  • Unethical research practices
  • Authorship disputes or undisclosed conflicts of interest

Retraction decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the Editorial Board and, where necessary, independent reviewers. Authors will be informed and given the opportunity to respond before a final decision is made.

Retracted articles will remain accessible on the journal website but will be clearly marked as “Retracted” to ensure transparency. A retraction notice explaining the reasons for the retraction will be published alongside the article.

This policy follows the principles and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
